The National Defense Act of 1916 is the genesis which established the Junior Reserve Officers Corp (JROTC). Presently over 1500 schools in America, Germany, England, Spain and Japan have active JROTC programs. Worldwide nearly 400,000 Cadets are actively enrolled. Proof of the success of the JROTC program can be seen in that currently over 500 schools are on the waiting list. JROTC  prepares high school students for responsible leadership positions. The results are mature cadets that can think on their own, and can express their ideas and opinions clearly and concisely.
